Kitchen design in cave is a very personal thing and is also governed by the size and shape, and ultimately the cost.  Many of the Spanish cave houses in the region of Andalucia have the traditional rustic style kitchens, with a very simple base unit made from bricks or stone.  Doors can be added but traditionally curtains are used.

A more modern approach can also be used to good effect, depending on your tastes, and of course the room that you have.  Below are some examples of what other people have managed to achieve.

This Kitchen is in the rustic style using brickwork for the base units, curtains, and pretty mosaic tiling for the splash back.

Another rustic styled kitchen, again with curtains but using the Andalucian tiles as the splash back.

This kitchen again uses the rustic style but this one has been fashioned from marble, again curtains feature with this design.

This kitchen favours the more modern approach with very simplistic lines, making good use of a relatively small area.

Again this kitchen favours a more modern design but with emphasis to a country styled kitchen/dinner.

This kitchen is again in the rustic style, but using doors for the units instead of curtains.

This kitchen favours the more traditional Spanish style kitchen, and clearly this kitchen is of decent proportions.

Another rustic styled kitchen which has the units with curtains and the work tops are tiled using broken floor tiles which produce a pretty but hard wearing effect.

Again the rustic style is used here, and white polished marble has been used for the worktop.

This my kitchen which is nearly finished.  I opted for the modern meets rustic, which seems to work quite well, and we are pleased with the result.
